The Hands Behind the Craft- Kassidy
My work grew from a need I felt in my community—a need for cultural revitalization & safe, proud spaces to share our teachings. As a young Anishinà be Algonquin woman relearning practices that were lost or interrupted, I’ve seen how deeply our traditions matter. That’s why I focus on bringing traditional crafting, beading, and leatherwork back into everyday life—not just as art, but as medicine, memory & connection.
Through workshops & community programs, I create welcoming spaces where people, especially youth, can learn, ask questions & reconnect with practices that should never fade. For me, teaching & making art go hand in hand; both help keep our culture alive while honouring its roots.
My work in women’s entrepreneurship & with seniors in traditional crafting has shaped the way I guide & share. Every piece I make & every workshop I offer is grounded in the belief that our stories, skills & community deserve to thrive for generations.
